Happy Halloween

Families,

Halloween brought excitement, costumes, and smiles across Lochbuie Intermediate Academy. Students had fun, but the most important part of the day did not change. Learning continued.
Teachers planned lessons that kept students engaged. Students read, wrote, solved problems, and worked with classmates. The fun stayed balanced with expectations. Our goal is always the same. Every student learns every day.
Thank you for supporting our school. Thank you for sending your students ready to learn, even on high-energy days. When students stay focused, they grow. When we show them how to participate and still work hard, they learn important life skills.
We are proud of our students and grateful for our families.

Best regards,
Manuel Montano
Principal, Lochbuie Intermediate Academy

Bathroom Issues

We had several incidents of 6th and 7th grade students making a mess in the bathrooms this week. For safety and cleanliness, we temporarily closed them and provided supervised breaks.
The bathrooms are back to normal use today. Please talk with your student about respecting our school spaces and keeping the bathrooms clean for everyone. Your support helps us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all students.

Importance of Attendance

Attendance drives achievement. Missing school means missing instruction. Students fall behind in reading, writing, and math. Each day out of class is a lost chance to practice and get feedback.
Students who attend regularly are more likely to:
• Score higher on state tests.
• Build strong learning habits.
• Stay on track for middle school and high school.
• Graduate on time.
Missing 10 percent of the school year, about two days each month, is chronic absence. Students who miss that much often score lower in reading and math by third grade. By fourth and fifth grade the gap widens and becomes harder to close. In middle school students who miss class struggle to stay connected and engaged.
Being present builds routine, connection, and responsibility. Attendance is the foundation of success.
Lochbuie Intermediate Academy school hours are 7:55 AM to 3:00 PM, with supervision and breakfast starting at 7:30 AM. Please help your student arrive on time and ready to learn. Ten minutes late each day adds up to over 30 hours of lost learning time in one school year. Your support makes a direct difference in your child’s growth.
