Weld Re-3J Families-

As a district, we want each student to feel a strong sense of belonging at their school. A clear indicator of belonging is attending school daily and being on time. You will notice each of our schools celebrating strong attendance and students being on time. Our staff will be focused and intentional about knowing your child as an individual and look for your child to be in class every day. Feeling a sense of belonging is correlated with stronger attendance which also leads to stronger academic outcomes. A student who does not attend school regularly may have trouble making close friends. Absenteeism can affect the whole child, negatively affecting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

We look at two important measures when tracking attendance at the school and individual student level:  Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and Chronic Absenteeism.  ADA refers to the percentage of students in attendance each day. Schools with strong attendance see ADA of 95% or higher.  Chronic Absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of school days across a month or school year. During the 2024-2025 school year, over 29% of students in Re-3J were chronically absent, closely matching the state average. This means that 29% of our students missed about one month of school which is detrimental to social, emotional, and/or academic outcomes. Similarly, our ADA for 2024-2025 was 90.8%, comparable to the state ADA of 91.4%.

Please partner with us to improve daily attendance for all students. Read more about the importance of daily attendance efforts here. Every day counts!
