We are raising the bar for our students. Our goal is clear. Prepare every student for high school and beyond.

At Lochbuie Intermediate Academy, we believe students rise to the level of expectations set before them. When we expect excellence, they meet it. When we push for growth, they show it. Our staff is committed to challenging students every day to think critically, problem-solve, and take ownership of their learning.

To reach those goals, we must all move away from the belief of “I can’t.” That mindset limits growth. Instead, we are building a culture of “I can” and “I will.” Learning takes effort, and success takes persistence. Every challenge faced in the classroom is a chance to build confidence and skill.

This year, we are focusing on helping students:

• Ask questions that deepen their understanding.

• Take responsibility for completing quality work.

• Show perseverance when learning feels difficult.

• Support one another and celebrate progress.

• Set goals that prepare them for the next level.

Parents and families play a key role in this journey. Encourage your student to talk about what they are learning. Ask about their goals and help them take pride in their progress. Together, we are shaping learners who are ready for high school, prepared for college, and confident for life.

Attendance drives achievement. Missing school means missing instruction. Students fall behind in reading, writing, and math. Each day out of class is a lost chance to practice and get feedback.

Students who attend regularly are more likely to:

Missing 10 percent or more of the school year, about two days each month, is chronic absence. Students who miss that much often score lower in reading and math by third grade and struggle to stay engaged by middle school.

Being present builds routine, connection, and responsibility. Attendance is the foundation of success.

Lochbuie Intermediate Academy school hours are 7:55 AM to 3:00 PM, with supervision and breakfast beginning at 7:30 AM. Please help your student arrive on time and prepared to start the day. Even being 10 minutes late each day adds up to over 30 hours of lost learning time each year. Your support makes a direct difference in your child’s growth.

We cannot wait to see you at Trunk or Treat Friday October 24 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Lochbuie Intermediate Academy! There will be lots of trunks and games. We will also have a bake sale for Lochbuie Intermediate Academy Student Council, so please bring cash. Members of the community have offered to bake some amazing goodies.
