This week we are focusing on raising the bar for every student at Lochbuie Intermediate Academy.

High expectations matter. When students know what is expected, they step up. They learn that effort leads to progress and that persistence pays off. We want every student to understand that success comes from showing up, working hard, and taking pride in what they do.

Teachers across our school are challenging students to think deeper, explain their reasoning, and push beyond their comfort zones. They are setting clear goals for learning and holding students accountable for meeting them. This helps build confidence and independence.

Families play a vital role too. When you talk with your child about school, ask what they learned, what challenged them, and how they handled it. Encourage them to take responsibility for their work and their behavior. Remind them that excellence comes from consistency, not shortcuts.

Our staff is committed to supporting every student in reaching these higher standards. We will provide the structure, feedback, and encouragement needed for growth. Together we will create a culture where students believe in their abilities and understand that hard work is expected and valued.

Our program is in full swing and there’s still time to get involved. We need EVERY student to register online, add at least 10 contacts and then use the click-to-share icons on their dashboard tonight.

Attendance and arriving on time are essential to your child’s success. Every minute of learning matters. When students are present and ready to learn from the first bell, they have the best chance to grow academically and socially. Students who miss 10 percent or more of the school year, about 18 days, are considered chronically absent. Research shows those students score lower in reading and math and are less likely to stay engaged.

Lochbuie Intermediate Academy school hours are 7:55 AM to 3:00 PM, with supervision and breakfast beginning at 7:30 AM. Please help your student arrive on time and prepared to start the day. Even being 10 minutes late each day adds up to over 30 hours of lost learning time each year. Your support makes a direct difference in your child’s growth.

Catalog fundraising is coming to an end on Monday October 13. Please make sure all orders are turned in Monday by end of the school day. NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED. There is some awesome prizes your child can win from selling item. We also have grand prizes that are AMAZING! Preschool through 2nd grade can win a tablet! 3rd grade through 5th grade can win a hoverboard! 6th grade through 7th grade can win Beats headphones!

Once the items come in we will need volunteers to help pass the orders out. Please be on the lookout for a sign up to help. 

Trunk or Treat is only a two weeks away on Friday October 24! We cannot wait to see everyone. We are still looking for people to decorate their trunks and hand out candy/trinkets. As we cannot afford to buy everyone candy you will need to provide your own. Please sign up. You can be a parent, member of the community or a business.
