Continuing the Excellence.

Families,

The first two weeks at Lochbuie Intermediate Academy have been a strong start to the year. Students are showing PRIDE every day through Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence, and staff are building positive routines that set our Lions up for success.
Some highlights from these first weeks:
  • Students are taking ownership of their learning by practicing routines, engaging in class discussions, and working with peers. Teachers report high levels of participation and excitement in classrooms.
  • Our focus on gradient is already helping families see student progress. Teachers are communicating learning goals, and students are reflecting on their own growth.
  • Many classrooms have kicked off the year with community-building activities. One 5th-grade class built a classroom charter together, while 7th graders worked on team challenges to strengthen collaboration.
  • Attendance has been strong, and students are arriving ready to learn each day. Consistent attendance is key to keeping students connected to both academics and relationships.
  • Our staff has shown incredible teamwork, supporting one another and ensuring every student has a safe and welcoming environment.
We are proud of the way our Lions have started the year. The first two weeks have been about building relationships, establishing expectations, and setting a tone of excellence. The weeks ahead will bring more learning, growth, and opportunities for students to shine.

Best regards,
Manuel Montano
Principal, Lochbuie Intermediate Academy

Important Band Information

Lochbuie Intermediate Academy is excited to offer Band for 6th and 7th grade students during the 2025-2026 school year.
On Monday, all interested students will be invited to learn more about Band. If your student wants to join, we will adjust their schedule. Band is a year-long commitment, so we want to make sure every student is ready to participate fully.
6th grade students will be scheduled into Beginning Band during the school day.
7th grade Band will be held again this year as a zero-hour course before school. Interested 7th grade students will be spoken to in the morning and added to the roster based on their interest and commitment.
All Band students will need to either purchase or rent an instrument beginning in August 2025. The school district has a very limited number of instruments available for rent. A free or reduced instrument rental application will be available after July 1, 2025.
Families should plan ahead. Students who do not have an instrument, a confirmed school rental, or a completed free/reduced application may not be able to participate.
We are excited to build our music program and support students as they learn and grow through Band.

Importance of Attendance

Attendance and arriving on time are essential to your child’s success. Every minute of learning matters. When students are present and ready to learn from the first bell, they have the best chance to grow academically and socially.
Lochbuie Intermediate Academy school hours are 7:55 AM – 3:00 PM, with supervision and breakfast beginning at 7:30 AM. Please help your student arrive on time and prepared to start the day.

PTO News

A letter from the PTO

Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! The PTO cannot wait to see what this school year
holds. We hope there are many fun activities and field trips.
The PTO is made up of a group of parents, teachers and staff of each school. We met monthly
to discuss events the schools are having, fundraisers, monetary needs of the teachers and staff.
Even if you cannot join us in person, we would love to have you join virtually.
We need more parent involvement to make sure the needs of the schools are met. A few of us
cannot do this alone. We need community support. At the beginning of the school year each
grade is given $1000 for field trips. This money comes directly from the PTO fund. The PTO is
funded by the catalog fundraiser (September), carnival (September), trunk-or-treat (October)
holiday shop (December), shamrock shuffle (March), and the dinner nights (one each month).
With Lochbuie Intermediate Academy expanding to 7th grade this year and 8th grade next, we
have to figure out more ways to help our students. The more involvement the better for our kids.
We would hate to have to fold the PTO as then the cost of field trips will then fall onto the
parents/guardians, the staff would not get the support they need, and teachers would still feel
there are people to help out when needed.
We have many different options to help us. There are open board positions you could join. You
could just join in on the meetings and let your voice be heard on how to help the schools. There
are many different volunteer opportunities through the school year that you can help with. From
the carnival, helping pass out the fundraisers, helping with the holiday shop, and even just
asking your students' teacher if they need help, don’t be afraid to ask if you can help.
The PTO looks forward to a great year and hope that you will join us at our first meeting of the
school year on August 19 at 6:00pm at Lochbuie Intermediate Academy in the library. Child care
will be provided for those who need it. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to send us an
email at meadowridgelochbuiepto@gmail.com. You can also talk to Gigi (LIA) and Leslie (MRE)
at the front office and they can get us any message you may have.
